The Owens Art Gallery is located on the campus of Mount Allison University. It is Canada’s oldest university art gallery and the custodian of an important collection of about 4000 works spanning the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries. Gallery Closure
The Owens will be closed from Monday 29 September through Sunday 19 October as we install the new exhibition Art = Work in all the main floor gallery spaces.
Closed on Holidays
Including Family Day (17 February), Good Friday (18 April), Victoria Day (19 May), Canada Day (1 July), New Brunswick Day (4 August), Labour Day (1 September), Thanksgiving Day (13 October), and Remembrance Day (11 November).
Private Visits
If you would like to visit the Owens at a quieter time, or when all staff and visitors are masked, private visits can be arranged from 9:00-10:00 am on weekdays. Contact [email protected] for more information.
Group Visits

Our education and outreach programs provide opportunities for community and school groups to encounter significant contemporary and historical visual art. We work with educators in multiple ways: through in-person and virtual tours, multisession collaborations, outdoor explorations, and artist projects.
