A sketch divided into three panels, each depicting an athletic activity against a light blue, roughly textured background. The left panel shows a light-skinned female swimmer poised to jump in wearing a black swimsuit and a white swim cap, with her arms outstretched. The middle panel illustrates a light-skinned male athlete mid-action in a high jump, wearing a white tank top and dark shorts, with a smaller dark-skinned figure in the background throwing a javelin. The right panel features a light-skinned sprinter nearing the finish line, viewed from behind, wearing a dark tank top and white shorts.

About this exhibition

Featuring works from the collection, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to view unframed works of art on paper. Initial concepts and ideas often precede more completed images or objects by artists. These preliminary studies reveal the artists’ working methods and techniques.

Some of the artists included in the exhibition are Alex Colville, June Leaf, Christopher Pratt and Mary Pratt.
