Bona Fide: handmade and homemade

Ongoing

1 April 2011 - 5 June 2011

In this video still, a figure wearing a red and white gingham dress holds a bucket filled with felt apples. Standing in front of a wall of cattails and tall grass, they looks to the left, the same direction as the 16mm film camera on a tripod to her right.

Bona Fide: handmade and homemade

About this exhibition

Bona Fide is an exhibition which celebrates the work being done by artists in Sackville, elsewhere in Canada and internationally who are interested in materials and methods traditionally associated with craft and the handmade. The work in the exhibition covers a range of media broadly inscribed by the acronym DIY, so as to embrace embroidery, sewing, knitting, and crocheting, as well as silk-screening and posters, drawing, film, and paper cutting.

The exhibition coincides with A Handmade Assembly which brings together artists from the region and away to give talks, lead workshops, start projects, and share ideas.
