Two hands hold up a large square softcover book. A greyscale house fills the entire cover, with the title and exhibition location squeezed above and below it.

This publication coincides with the exhibition the acute image in canadian art held at the Owens Art Gallery from 1 April to 15 May 1974.

The collection of works in the exhibition are acute perceptions of the environment, represented in each of the artists unique stylized techniques in which the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

This publication includes an introduction by Christopher Youngs and a list of works featured in the exhibition.

Two hands hold open a softcover book. The left page depicts a painting of a woman on a boat looking straight at the viewer through binoculars. The right page depicts a house, the sun casting bold shadows on the siding.
