This publication coincides with the exhibition Small as a Way of Working held at the Owens Art Gallery from 15 March to 28 April 1996.

The works in this exhibition are by artists who in the past have shown some interest in making small objects. Bringing their work together within the gallery space provides the opportunity to examine various processes and ways of working.
