Two hands hold up a pamphlet. On the cover is an orange and green painting of a radar image of Nova Scotia on square panels and arranged into a blocky shape.

This publication coincides with the exhibition radar sights: new paintings by peter dykhuis held at the Owens Art Gallery from 17 January to 2 March 2003.

Central to Peter Dykhuis’s paintings since the mid 1990s—encaustic on panel works of unconventional shapes and cartographic persuasion–have been satellite images of North America and the artefacts of that remote sensing technology; false colour imaging and the near-abstract motifs of weather patterns.

Co-published by Owens Art Gallery and Gil McElroy

Two hands hold open an accordion style pamphlet. Images of paintings on square panels depicting radar imagery of Nova Scotia appear across the pamphlet. The panels are arranged into blocky shapes.
