Two hands hold up a softcover book. An image of a brightly coloured painting of jelly-filled glass cups on a bed of tinfoil is in the centre of the cover.

This publication coincides with the exhibition Mary Pratt: This Little Painting held at the Owens Art Gallery from 11 March to 22 May 2016.

Mary Pratt’s processes of glazing and layering her oil paintings capture essentials of light, colour, as well as her desire to capture the charged (and often fleeting) beauty one might experience while performing mundane tasks.

The publication includes a foreword by exhibition co-curators National Gallery of Canada Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, Jonathan Shaughnessy, and The Rooms Curator of Contemporary Art, Mireille Eagan, as well as an essay by Mary Pratt.
