This publication coincides with Garry Neill Kennedy’s project, FBI Top Ten Art Crimes, done specifically for the Digital Owens from 7 November 2008 to 6 December 2009. This publication includes 10 specific links which connect the website of the FBI’s Art Crime Team (ACT) directly to the Digital Owens.

The Art Crime Team was established to locate missing or stolen art throughout the world. This stolen art and cultural property is recorded in the FBI’s National Stolen Art File (NSAF). When visitors to the Digital Owens click on Kennedy’s work they open ACT’s website where they can view the top ten art crimes along with a more extensive list of recent art thefts. In this way visitors to the Owens Art Gallery website can take part in the recovery of stolen art – anywhere in the world.
