Two hands hold up a pamphlet. Aligned left on the cover is an image of the ocean meeting the shore. The words "THE FOLDS" are overlaid onto the sand.

This publication is in conjunction with the exhibition Everyday, the first words: New Work by Jan Peacock held at the Owens Art Gallery from 30 September to 6 November 2003.

The exhibition showcases new work by Jan Peacock, one of Canada’s preeminent video artists. Every day, the first words is a work created for the Owens Art Gallery and conceived for a small space. It employs a double-sided video screen, nine feet high by twelve feet wide, custom built to fit from floor to ceiling.
