This publication coincides with the exhibition Captive Voyeur held at the Owens Art Gallery from 5 March to 11 April 1999.

In developing her exhibition Captive Voyeur, Karen Abbott has focused on the idea of community–in particular current and former students at Mount Allison University as both exhibitors and audience–and on the relationship between viewer and object.
