This poster coincided with the exhibition Anna Torma: Through the Eye of the Needle, held at the Owens Art Gallery from 19 March to 18 April 2004.

An exhibition of hand embroidery by Hungarian born artist Anna Torma. In these extraordinarily complex and beautiful works, Anna Torma draws with thread, producing images and narrative elements relating to collage and drawing, while retaining the qualities of fibre art of implied touch and sensation. Incorporating motifs from folk art and contemporary Hungarian art, Torma moves freely within figuration, abstraction, the decorative and the literal to create highly individualized “texts”. Organized by the Owens Art Gallery and curated by Ya-Ling Huang.
