With Love
This exhibition explores the idea of love as devotion through creative practice. Alex Colville gave a copy of each serigraph he made to his wife, Rhoda Colville. Many of the works in this special collection, which the artist donated to the Owens in 2013, feature intimate scenes from the couple’s life together. By contrast, Mary Pratt’s Transformations (1993-2002), a series of woodblock prints she created during a nine-year creative collaboration with Japanese Master Printer, Masato Arikushi, transfigure the lonely edges of domestic space through breathtaking still-life studies.
