An adult is seated, holding out a bouquet of pink and yellow roses against a grey wall in a gallery. To the left, five TV screens with pink, blue or purple hues show a man singing. Above the TV's, a red silk banner is suspended from the gallery ceiling.

About this exhibition

A reframing of Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay’s Lyric, a sung narrative composed of sound bites collected from one thousand love songs. In this work familiar lyrics are isolated, sampled and arranged into a series of hybrid theme-based songs, then sung as a classical song cycle in an epic solo performance.

Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay works in video, sound, print and textile. His artworks have included concepts of love, emotional identity and language. Nemerofsky has exhibited in Europe, Asia and Canada and his work is part of the collection of the National Gallery of Canada.
