The Owens Art Gallery of Mount Allison University welcomed Winnipeg artist Ray Fenwick for a two-month long Creative Artist’s Residency. Ray engaged with the gallery, university, and community while working on a new project.
Ray Fenwick is an interdisciplinary artist working with sound, video, typography, painting, and performance. The drive of his practice is, as he puts it, “to give language the floor” through initiating alternative relationships with language and the voice.
While in Sackville, Fenwick worked with the Owens Art Gallery and its audiences at Mount Allison University, Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre, the Mount Allison University’s Fine Arts Department students and the local community through class participation, workshops, artist talks, and performances.
This residency was made possible with the generous support of the Manitoba Arts Council and was hosted by the Owens Art Gallery.
