Calendar: December 2019
Calendar: December 2019 is a special online project by Clara Congdon, presented as a “takeover” of the Owens’ Social Media accounts.
Calendar: December 2019 is made up of a daily square, embroidered with a quote from an interview with a person who is now deceased; all these interviews are accessible on YouTube. This collection of brief tactile audio transcripts gathered from past Decembers offers the opportunity to contemplate how changing technologies alter the accessibility of records and archives, how we may each be remembered in the digital era, and the ways in which we consume other people’s words and lives.
This project is part of an initiative that approaches social media channels and online spaces as venues for the presentation of new work. Calendar: December 2019 will be presented as a series of daily posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter from 9 to 15 December 2019.
